The way the rewrite of Font Book works is it has no conflict resolution screen, and says nothing at all when you enable fonts that conflict with others that are already active. What it does, without telling you, is it disables the conflicting font(s) that were already active and enables the ones you just selected.
It may just be how and when you activated the font.
Since forever (why MS has never fixed this is anyone's guess), is if you enable any fonts when any MS Office apps are already running, they won't appear in the menus. You have to quit the Office apps and relaunch them before the font(s) will appear.
Thank you for your explanation. I really don't know much about Font Book; it's just one of those apps that does its thing in the background most of the time. I'm trying to figure out why a particular font that I've used in Word no longer works. One of the suggestions was to close all Microsoft apps and resolve any conflicts in Font Book.
This same font works in my Adobe apps, but not in any Microsoft apps. I'm trying to avoid the time-consuming process of reformatting my Word docs using a different font, but I just can't seem to make the font I originally used available in Word. Do you have any suggestions regarding this?
