What is the secret to get rid of Java plugin icon on screen?

I can't get rid of this icon on my display - JavaAppletplugin.plugin. When I move to Trash it says it has to be downloaded. I've deleted Java and reinstalled it and deleted it. I have no idea how the icon ended up on my MacPro screen. If I search Java in Finder the plugin is the only thing that shows. I am the administrator.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 26.1

Do you have any file-hosting apps, such as Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, or otherwise, installed? If so, remove all of those apps, restart, and try deleting this file again.

If none of those file-hosting apps are in use, is the Apple iCloud Files and the Desktop and Documents feature in use?

That plugin usually resides in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins, per Oracle. How it got (re)located elsewhere is unclear.

Some additional details, hopefully to avoid some potential confusion:: this question is currently posted in the iMac forum. Mac Pro is a big pedestal or rack-mount Mac. MacBook Pro is what is shown in the footer. This question looks to be a macOS 26 Tahoe question too, and unrelated to the particular Mac hardware involved.
