Can I upgrade internal storage on MacBook Air M4?
I purchased a MacBook Air M4 2025 a couple of months ago. I would like to increase internal harddrive to 1T, is this possible?
MacBook Air 15″, macOS 15.6

No, it is not possible. What you purchased is what the device stays with.
You can however use external drives (USB thumb drives, hard disks and SSDs) to offload to from the Mac.

You cannot increase internal storage on the M4 MacBook Air – or any other recent Mac notebook – after purchase. The built-in SSD (not hard drive) storage exists in the forum of flash memory chips that are soldered in – and there is no place inside the notebook where you could install more.
O goodness, thank you for the response. I have to unpack a 550GB case file on my machine preferably not on an external device. Guess I'll have to get a new Dell.
Thanks again for the quick responses

Whether you buy a Dell or not, if the internal storage is not large enough for your needs, you will have to get an external drive. Why the issue with getting an external drive to meet your storage needs?
