Apple TV Computer app not showing entire movie library

Only a very small part of my movie library on my Mac shows up on my Apple TV's Computer app. The "TV" app on the Mac however lists all movies and if I open any movie on the Mac, this then becomes visible in the library on the Computer App on the Apple TV. It is almost as if the Computer app on the Apple TV cannot see the location of any movie in my library without a nudge from the "TV" app on the Mac.

I am aware that this question (or similar) has been asked before on this forum, but so far without a satisfactory answer.

Possibly, if you have moved media files around on your Mac (since adding to the Library), then the exact location on disk may not be the same as the link in the app’s database, resulting in a “missing” file that won’t be listed in the Computers app on Apple TV until that link is “repaired”.

Link should be immediately repaired when the file on the same volume gets opened in the TV app on Mac. macOS assists for that in the background.

Links to files on (temporary) missing unmounted volumes (like external disks) would give a warning instead and an “(!)” icon in List View when the file is tried to open on Mac. Asking to relink manually or leave it be.

Once relinked, the Library database gets updated and then the Computers app should be able to get to the previously missing file(s) in future sessions too.
