iPhone 17 unable to detect WIFI

I have been travelling for two weeks now and our iPhone 17 Pro ( my husbands and mine) do not detect any WIFI in any of the places we have stayed in. Our iPads detect the WIFI without a problem. The only way around this we have found, is for someone with an android phone on the same WIFI to generate a QR Code which we then scan with our iPhone 17 Pro. Surely there must be a setting on the iPhone to allow it to recognise the WIFI signal?

I have done all the suggested solutions: turning airplane mode on/off, resetting network settings, restarting iPhone, no VPN connection…. Cannot ask every place we stay in to change their router settings….
