Apple TV not accepting correct Apple ID password

My AppleTV will not accept my password (which I know and is correct). I can log in using the same password to both Apple Account and iCloud.com at the same time on my Mac from the same IP address. No matter what I do, the AppleTV rejects the password. The password works both on Apple Account and iCloud.com.


I can see the device in my Apple Account via the web.


I am trying to add my account as a default to enable cross device sharing of the setup. The AppleTV (or Apple) will not accept the password which has been repeatedly typed correctly. I cannot get to the two factor authentication step.


UPDATE: After posting this, it worked. Thanks to whomever fixed this in the background
