Disable annoying text boxes on Safari

How do I get rid of the little hovering gray box that says open link in new tab and 10 other options (see screen shot)? It takes me twice as long to get my work done when I am constantly clicking to get rid of that box. New Mac, the old Mac didn't do this.

To be more specific: what mac, and what pointing device?

If it is the built in trackpad, you are probably resting two fingers on it, which by default will make each click a secondary click. If this bugs you, go to System Settings->Trackpad, and choose Secondary Click: Off

Then whenever you actually want a secondary click, do Control-click (i.e. hold down the Control key, and click).
