iPad mini keyboard focus issues

When I log into twitter in Safari the final step is OTP. To use my password manager I need to hold down finder and in menu select autofill and then passwords. This opens popup from password manager with apparent focus in search field - in popup window of password manager. Entering anything via keyboard sends characters to OTP field in safari below popup window of password manager. Clicking search field in popup does not change anything. Cursor is flashing in search field but input goes to safari. Rarely (one in six tries) it works.

This behavior changed after upgrading to iOS 26, and persists to this day - no more upgrades available for newest model of ipad mini.
