Lightning Earbuds: Only one earbud working

I own a pair of lightning earbuds, my issue with them is that only one of the earbuds connect to my phone's bluetooth. Specifically, when I plug them in, i only hear noise in the left earbud, and that one is the only one that seems to be on. This issue has only occured today, though I've been using these earbuds all day with no issue similar to this. This is both concerning, and annoying since I would prefer is BOTH of my earbuds worked.
