Pages dictionary gives wrong Polish spelling suggestions

Spelling in Pages gives me completely dumb suggestions, ones that don't even exist in my language. It looks like the dictionary is out of whack to be honest, and it's not once in a blue moon but with tons of words. I started using Replace Text feature a lot to replace spelling mistakes because regular dictionary doesn't work, but it's just a workaround and not very elegant at that...anyone can suggest a solution? I tried looking it up online, but can't seem to find the right solution...

Here are the examples of many others. Here the word is "zagadanieniem", it shoudl be "zagadnieniem" and it suggests breaking it into two, out of which only "zagadnienie" is a real word. There is no "niem" in Polish...and certainly there is no "zagadnienie-niem" :) How does Pages even create such words?

Since nobody will be fixing bugs in sequoia any more, you might want to try LbreOffice or Word, which have independent spellcheck systems, and see if they do a better job.

Do you see the same problem is other apps like Safari, Mail, Notes, Messages?

I'm not sure how I could see this issue in Safari, truth be told, plus I don't use it so hard to say.

Notes, Mail -- I don't have spelling check turned on, so I don't know, but I checked and in Messages it shows me exact same problem. I tested with the same word, and it gives me the same lame suggestions. Does that help?

I don't think it's a bug. If the spelling once worked as it was supposed to, that means it can happen again, so it seems it's more of a "reset to factory spec" kind of fix. And sequoia is still not Snow Leopard now, is it? :) It's not a legacy system.. Or at least that is how my logic operates.:) But I'm thinking of transitioning from Pages altogether. There are far superior word editors out there, so maybe it's time…
