airpod widget not telling me the right battery.

i just got new airpods 4. their fine and they work perfectly but there’s this issue where the battery is never displayed correctly on the little widget on the photo i adjunted. neither on my phone nor ipad. i’ve seen people say it’s because my phone might not be updated to the latest ios, while this may be true for my phone, it still doesn’t explain why my ipad is updated to the latest ios yet i still have this issue. it’s frustrating because i never know if my airpods are dead when i want to use them or if i need to charge them or anything. how can i fix this issue? i’ve even tried resetting them and it only worked for a day then it continued to not tell me the right battery for them. i know it’s not correct because it’ll say i’m charging the box when im not, it tells me one thing when i open the box, then another when i pull one airpod out of the box.
