MacBook Pro not charging in any port

I have an a2141 model MacBook Pro. I actually have 2 of the same models. I just bought a refurbished one…and now it’s doing the exact same thing as the older one, which is not charging properly. And now, as of today, it’s not charging AT ALL, in none of the four ports! PLEASE HELP

The SMC is responsible for managing power on your Mac. Resetting it can resolve certain uncommon issues related to power or thermal management.

Resetting the SMC may be suggested for Intel-based Mac computers as a final step to resolve issues that could be power related:

•Battery isn't charging

•Mac isn't turning on

•Fans are running fast

•Mac laptop computer gets too warm

•Built-in camera isn't working

Rebooting or resetting NVRAM resets port definition for your Intel mac.

Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM Reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

(get at least two-three rounds of the chimes when holding the NVRAM Reset)

Try a different cable; no resolve try unplugging the Power adapter from all cables and the wall power for 60 sec. then plug it back in, this reset the internals on the power adapter.

If your MagSafe cable or power adapter isn't working

see Check for line noise issues—

Unplug the power adapter from the wall, wait 60 seconds and then plug the adapter back in.

It started off going in and out…then stopped charging completely.

It’s completely dead

nothing you can do after all of the above... and left with "completely dead "

Take it in—

Getting Mac to Power on and Charge:

If there is a charge, yet it will not power on, there couple of tricks that works to clear some of the caches for power. Hold all down simultaneously at boot, and let it reboot. It takes a few tries.

  • [command + option + fn + F5 + power button]
