My Podcast Episode Art isn't showing in Apple Podcast Player

I have an app that creates individualized private podcasts for each of the users. Here is a sample feed: https://cdn.dev.spkr-app.com/rss/4e3542ed-603d-4cf7-9930-dc5dd5405be5/rss.xml?psk=17c97953c5f9e06e08fe2a2f21423f88

If you subscribe to this feed in Apple Podcasts the episode artwork does not display. Everything else works ok though. If you subscribe in a different podcast player like Overcast the artwork displays correctly.

Why won't Apple Podcasts show the episode artwork? My best guess is it has something to do with the podcast being private, not registered with Apple as a podcast.

Thoughts or ideas?

You are 'subscribing by URL' in Apple Podcasts and that's not an issue in itself.

Your image is at

https://cdn.spkr-app.com/assets/spkr-logo-1024x1024.png

It is indeed 1024 x 1024px: this is too small. the lowest acceptable is 1400 x 1400px, and 3000 x 3000 is recommended (and necessary in the event your podcast should be 'featured' should you actually submit it). When you make an upgraded version note that the file size must be less than 500kB.

Thanks for the response!

I should update the spkr-logo image as you suggest, but that logo image actually displays fine.

I'm referring to the image for each episode e.g.

<itunes:image href="https://cdn.dev.spkr-app.com/thumbnails/4e3542ed-603d-4cf7-9930-dc5dd5405be5/80c700ec-806f-4200-bb28-c6e4f2ad92c0.jpg"/>

this image is a jpeg and has the following attributes which meet criteria (2048x2048 and only 201KB)

perhaps the logo has an effect of episode images not displaying, but seems unlikely. I will correct the logo image soon, I hope this somehow fixes the issue.

Another approach is to embed the episode image into the mp3.
