AirPods Pro 2 audio stops working after macOS 15.2 (Build 26) update

Hi everyone,

After updating my Mac to the latest macOS version (build 26), I’m facing a recurring issue with my AirPods Pro 2. They connect successfully, and audio works fine initially. However, after some time, the audio stops playing through the AirPods—even though the media (YouTube, Spotify, etc.) continues to play normally on the screen.

The AirPods remain connected in Bluetooth settings, but I can’t hear anything through them. The only workaround is to disconnect and reconnect the AirPods, but the issue appears again after a while.

This problem is happening frequently, and I noticed it started after updating to the latest version (running on M4).

Has anyone else faced this issue? Is there any fix or workaround?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

@Ingo2711

I’m currently running macOS 26.1 on both of my Macs — the M3 and the M4. My AirPods Pro (2nd generation) work perfectly on the M3, but the issue occurs only on the M4. So it doesn’t seem related to beta software. The problem happens after some time of use: the AirPods stay connected, music continues playing, but no sound comes through the AirPods. This keeps happening repeatedly on the M4.
