Multiple issue on iPhone 15 Pro Max after iOS 26.1 update

After updating to iOS 26.1, my device (an iPhone 15 Pro Max) started having a few issues.

First, when I open or close an app or switch between apps, the frames take longer to fade out — it’s not very smooth anymore.

The main problem, though, is the camera. It freezes, showing a black or grey screen, and the only way to fix it is by restarting the phone. It also can’t be used by apps like Viber or Messenger when this happens. As I said, a restart temporarily fixes it, but the issue comes back after a while.

Finally, after light to moderate use, the phone heats up more than it should.

Do we know of anything that actually works, or if there’s going to be a software update to fix these issues?

Try to reset the iPhone to factory settings, to rule out, that the iOS software caused the issue.

To rule out defective data from the backup, set it up as a new device and test the camera.

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings using a computer - Apple Support

If the camera works after that, restore from the latest backup and test again.

In case setting it up as a new device does not help, this still could be an iOS 26.1 software issue, and you can use the Feedback to report this directly to Apple Techs.
