How to print CD-disks on Canon Pixma TS8351 with macOS Sequoia using AirPrint?

Re.: AirPrint-bug

We try to print CD-disks on our Canon Pixma TS8351-printer that provides this feature.

Unfortunately professional printing with MacOS Sequoia shows very unprofessional results.

In older operation systems the print-menue showed a choice „CD-Print“ in „paperformat“. This menue-item has gone.

CANON support suggested to install their printer driver, but this is impossible, as MacOS always loads its AirPrint-driver. And this AirPrint driver does not support CD-printing.

If there is no other way to get this job done, we expect the return of this feature in a timely update.

Sorry, but NO!

CANON has this comment:

"This product is compatible with the operating system selected using AirPrint only - a driver is not required.

The move from Canon drivers to AirPrint has been made to improve the user experience as any future updates will be applied automatically through your operating system.“

The CD-disk-printing is not provided by AirPrint!

I agree with @den.thed; it is the manufacturer's obligation to support and enable whatever features they implement into their hardware.

Apple cannot be held responsible for supporting each and every function of the thousands of peripheral devices that might connect to their computers. Nor should they be expected to. Can you imagine the resources that would be required to do that.

Canon is gaslighting you. They sell a product that apparently includes features that may not be supported in AirPrint, so the onus is on them to provide the software to use such features.
