Zoom and Mac Tahoe audio compatibility issues-echo chamber

Migrating info to a new MacBook Air M4 I inadvertently upgraded to Tahoe while transferring from the MacBook Air M1... Now Zoom, which I use in my work, has a significant audio time lag or echo, and both machines have it. Is there a fix?

It feels impossible, for my tech level, to uninstall Tahoe on either machine because the Time Machine won't migrate information without the same operating system. Thank you.
