How do I verify and resolve unauthorized Apple Pay setup attempt on my Apple Account?

I received this on my watch and my Mac today. If there really was an issue would Apple let me know on my Apple page after I sign in?

The country code 1 is the U.S., but that's usually meaningless. Anyone in the world can apply for a toll-free U.S. business line.

The one thing that changes in the scam rather frequently is the phone number. It gets used until authorities see it's related to a scam and shut it down. Then the scammers start another one. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Sometimes the number is so new, when you go to look it up, Google shows no matches on it at all.
