Problem syncing Apple Books on iPhone.

Apple Books is such a pain to use on iPhone. Syncs very poorly with the same app on my Mac Mini or iPad. This is 2025. Can Apple Books keep up? I have been reading a book on my iPad and no matter what I try, I cannot see the book or update my progress in iPhone. Anyone else with this problem in December 2025? I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, toggled iCloud on and off, done everything I’ve seen posted online. Finally after signing out, I can’t sign back in seamlessly because I can’t remember my password yet I have passkey, keychain and all those things that are supposed to make your life easy on ios
