Can I use an Apple Studio Display with a low-spec Windows laptop for 1080p output?

I’d like to buy an apple Studio Display as I have a Mac for personal use. Due to limited desk space I’d also like to use it with my windows work laptop.

Unfortunately, my work equipment is low spec and can probably only output 1080p.

A. Would it work?

B. Could I connect it with a usb-c to HDMI adapter?

C. How would 1080p look. Borders?

It’s quite a specific scenario, but if you’ve any experience with this I’d appreciate your advice.

A. Would it work?

Maybe. Depending on ports on your Windows PC. See below.

B. Could I connect it with a usb-c to HDMI adapter?

No. The Studio Display requires a Thunderbolt signal, which cannot be created off of an HDMI port. If your Windows PC does not have a Thunderbolt port, it won't work. At the very least, and is not guaranteed, the USB-C port on your PC needs to support Display Port Alt Mode.

C. How would 1080p look. Borders?

Large and blocky. No borders. But it's unlikely the Windows PC stops at 1080p, unless its like over 10 year old. Maybe not 4K, but likely 1440p aka 2K. That should look fine.
