Clock app timers duplicate and lack presets after iOS update

Timers keep duplicating when used.

I’m on iOS 26.1 and I am finding the change to the timers a bit of a pain.

I used to have a few presets that I used for work and now since it’s updated they’ve changed the timers in the clock app so there are no presets, and it would add any timer and only show up as a recently used timer and repeating it adds more duplicate instances to the recently used timers.

Deleting one of those duplicates deletes any instance of that timer from the recently used timers.

Is there a way to re-enable presets or save them?

A. Use the Shortcuts app to make true timer presets

This is the closest system to what you are looking for.

  1. Open Shortcuts → tap +
  2. Add action: Start Timer
  3. Set your duration (e.g., “25 minutes”).
  4. Name it whatever you like (e.g., “Work Focus 25”).
  5. Optional:
    1. Add it to Home Screen
    2. Add to Control Centre (via a Shortcut tile)
    3. Ask Siri: “Run Work Focus 25”

These act exactly like the way you require and never duplicate.

B. Use Siri voice commands

If you use specific timers frequently, Siri remembers them more gracefully than the Clock UI.

Example:

Hey Siri, start my 90-minute cleaning timer

After a few uses, Siri will offer it as a predictive suggestion.

Not perfect, but less chaotic than the Clock app list.
