iPhone 16 webcam video is reversed

I'm trying to use my iPhone 16 as a webcam connected to my Mac Studio. I can get the image to appear live without too much of an issue, however the image is always reversed (i.e. backwards) and I can't seem to get it to appear in the correct non-inverted direction. Toggling the Mirror Front-Facing Camera does nothing, as the live image is always reversed when it displays the feed as a webcam in FaceTime, Quicktime, etc.

Is there some way to fix it so the video is not-inverted?

Mac Studio, macOS 15.7

Thank you for clarifying that.

No. I am referring to using the iPhone 16 Pro as a webcam.

Toggling the Mirror Front Camera setting onboard the iPhone doesn't impact the live video that appears in FaceTime application on the Mac (i.e. when selecting the iPhone instead of the Mac Studio Display's built-in camera) when it is being used as a webcam.

The video shows up no problem, but is inverted (i.e. backwards). From what I have read elsewhere, the live "preview" on the phone always shows a true view (i.e. not inverted) for the forward facing camera, and gets inverted (or not) when a photo is taken. But it seems FaceTime takes an inverted live video from the front camera, regardless of how I have the setting toggle for Mirror Front Camera set.

iSight Camera Reversing:

A. To ensure that the saved photos appear as they do to others:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Camera
  3. Scroll to: Composition pane
  4. Toggle Off: Mirror Front Camera

B. Clear the System Data:

it is basically caches that are created as time proceeds so that your iPhone's apps open and operate in a quicker and more-efficient manner. Here is how to clear it: How to Clear "System Data" in your iPhone's Storage: - Apple Community
