Just got a new 2025 MacBook Air sequoia and i set password and entered a hint. Restarted and password is required to enable Touch ID but hint is not displayed and I forgot password. How can I logon?

No you need to restore the macbook to factory settings whether you like it or not, all the answer was provided to you in the link.

Thank you. I’m not connected to the internet, so how does it reinstall without internet? Or how do I connect to internet without password? I’m traveling and I don’t have a default network set up yet anyway.

Try resetting it now or wait until you get to your destination so you can plug the device power and then do the reset.
Thanks! My husband figured out it would allow me to connect once ready to install, and it did! Install takes 3.5 hrs here at hotel.
I sure wish there was just a way to display the pw hint, as I made sure I could figure pw out from that. But no one or search answer could ever tell me how to get the hint to display. Do you have any idea?
