Since your iPhone is telling you to sign in even though you already are, it usually means one part of iCloud or Find My hasn’t fully completed the sign-in process. Here are a few quick things to check that almost always resolve it:
- Go to Settings > your name > iCloud and make sure there are no prompts asking you to re-enter your password or “Finish Signing In.”
- Under Settings > your name > Find My, make sure Find My iPhone is on. Also confirm Location Services is enabled in Settings > Privacy & Security.
- Bluetooth needs to be on, and your Apple Account must have two-factor authentication enabled.
- If everything above looks good, sign out of iCloud (Settings > your name > Sign Out), restart your iPhone, then sign back in.
- Finally, try resetting the tag. To do so, remove the back cover, take out the battery, then reinsert and press it until it chimes. Do this five times, close it back up, and try pairing again.
If you still get the same message afterward, the tag may be linked to another Apple Account, and will have to be removed from that account before it can be used by you.
