Safari on iPhone keeps shifting to private browsing by itself

Every few weeks my iPhone without my having done anything to prompts this, shift into private browsing pages to which I am permanently logged in, meaning that each time I want to access them, I have to log in again with my email address and password. To get out of this, I undo private browsing, but a few weeks later the rigmarole starts up again.

How can I stop the my iPhone (SE 2022 on 18.6.2) doing this to me?

iPhone SE (3rd generation)

The current stable release of your iOS including bug fixes, security updates is iOS 18.7.2 — I would start there
