If you see a message the iPhone is disabled because your kid entered the wrong Passcode too many times, you will HAVE to erase the iPhone using your computer, then set it up from the most recent backup you have. That means data which was not backed up or at least synced with iCloud will be gone and there is no way to avoid that.
Surely, you backup your iPhone or at least sync your photos with iCloud, don't you?
