Welcome!
Is that the original display or has it been replaced? If replaced, was it done by Apple, or a non-Apple provider?
It's hard to identify the issue from the photos because of reflections of what appears to be the ceiling.
Not likely contributory but is a screen protector installed? I'm seeing what appears to be peeling or chipping in the two upper corners:
If no protector, that irregularity could indicate some damage to the display or and previous attempt to remove it.
Are you running iOS 26.X? You can try a couple of Settings changes:
— Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size. Toggle "Reduce Transparency" and "Increase Contrast" to see if either or both helps.
— Settings > Display & Brightness: See if changing the "Liquid Glass" option to "Tinted."
Are you running any afftermarket "protection/security" apps, or one of those client-side VPNs that get overhyped in TV adverts?

Dear Brian could you explain as to why(any theory would do)
My view, I have never seen anything like it! hence get it looked at.
I would certainly edit the home screen to get default icons back, don't use shortcuts to customise app icons (if you have), and then force restart the phone https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/force-restart-iphone-iph8903c3ee6/ios
There are many unknowns in your situation, JadeMask01. I try to avoid speculation on unknown circumstances to avoid unrealistic conclusions.

Good luck! 👋🏼😉
Consider a few unknown factors:
I am not a trained technician and cannot possibly know the cause. All I can do is recommend a course of action that would lead to a resolution.
I would certainly entertain the steps that LD150
had suggested. 👍🏼

Excellent! I would add the caveat that my suggestions come closer to workarounds or "bush fixes" in my part of the US, to get you up and running, and that there may still be an underlying problem.
Like chaining a flat tire, they'll get you down the road but you still have a tire in the boot with hole in it.
So please keep an eye on it and, if it comes back, let Apple have a look-see.
Enjoy the holiday season!
