How to simplify iOS 16 interface for extensive Apple user?

As an extensive user of Apple (Mac Studio, iPhone 16, MacBook Pro, iPad Air) I am at a loss to understand what on earth Apple have done to IOS with version 16. Every activity I have come across so far requires additional GUI input to achieve what were simple activities in previous incarnations. Camera requires 2 screen touches before getting to the activity required, very annoying when trying to capture something quickly. Safari 3 screen touches to get to starting a new interface. Screen zooms in instead of just appearing.....etc, etc. All this smacks of "techies" coming up with ideas which are NOT really required.

Having been in the IT development industry for over 40 years this is all so reminiscent of the past "what can we do that's really clever but that no one wants!!"

I suggest Apple provide a simple "switch" in settings/general to rid you of these new ideas and interfaces for those that don't want them.

Another simple point about iPhone; move the "on/off" switch from directly opposite the volume switches - I keep taking screen prints when trying to switch the phone off (you work it out) and whilst on that subject why is there a need to have a second/third screen touch to save a screen print - annother nonsensical IOS16 change.

Or one or more of these

Settings, Accessibility, Display & Text size, reduce transparency

Settings, Accessibility, Display & Text size , increase contrast
