Spotlight in System Settings showing spinning wheels

Purchased a new M5 MacBook Pro (Tahoe 26.1) and curious about Spotlight in System stetting. In two places, there's a spinning wheel and curious if anything is supposed to populate there. I've had the computer running for at least 5 days assuming it was indexing. Even after a couple of restarts it's the same spinning wheels. Can anyone tell me what should populate where the spinning wheels are? Some context: I did have some issues with not being able to search mail a couple of times, but seem to have fixed that with some suggestions here. Not sure if it's related.

Thanks in advance.
