Saving iCloud storage by managing email on iPhone

I would like to save some space in iCloud. Can I disconnect my email from my iPhone, leaving it only on my computer, and access it only when I am far away from my laptop by connecting it to iCloud on my iPhone?

Thank you for your help

Removing Lots of Space from iCloud with eMAil Account:

Apple iCloud eMail has plays an impact on the storage of its own. So, if you were to remove a second-party email account (i.e. gmail), then all is removed from Apple's Server, and you'd save space. But, probably not a lot, if you're not paying for loans extra storage from the eMail provider.

The Ultimate Solution:

As for getting Lots of Spare Removed from iCloud: Export the iCloud Drive > conform you can access it > Trash iCloud Derive > browse through the archive in Finder. Perform this using a computer, as it would more user friendly doing so. See my User Tip: Getting a Quick and Direct "iCloud Drive-to-External Hard Drive" Download - Apple Community
