I missed my iCloud+ payment this month, but I paid it two days ago, BUT why isn't it working? I mean, before this, the storage was 2TB, and now it's 128GB.

The confusion regarding the "128GB" figure suggests you are likely looking at your iPhone's physical device storage rather than your iCloud storage. Apple does not offer a 128GB iCloud plan—the tiers are typically 50GB, 200GB, and 2TB—whereas 128GB is a standard hardware capacity for the phone itself. To verify your actual cloud status, go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud. If the bar at the top says 5GB, it means your account was downgraded to the free tier due to the missed payment, and you are currently viewing your phone's internal memory in the other menu settings.
Even though you paid your bill two days ago, if the subscription had already lapsed, the system often treats it as a cancellation rather than a pause. This means the payment on your card might have cleared your balance, but it did not automatically restart the 2TB subscription. You likely need to manually reactivate the plan by going to iCloud > Manage Account Storage > Change Storage Plan and selecting the 2TB option again. If the menu already shows that you have the 2TB plan but features are not working, try signing out of your Apple ID and signing back in to force the device to sync with the server.
Rest assured that your data is likely safe. Apple typically retains data for roughly 30 days after a payment failure before permanently deleting it. Once you confirm the 2TB plan is active again in your settings, your photos and files should reappear, though it may take some time for the device to fully re-index and sync everything back to normal.
