How to Disable Typing Status Indicator on iOS 26???
How do I disable my typing status indicator on iOS 26? I don't want everyone to know when I'm about to type something. What an idiotic feature.

The typing indicator has always been a feature of iMessages (or at least it has been for as long as I can remember). When RCS capabilities were added in 2024, the typing indicator was part of it.
You can't turn off the typing indicator for iMesages. You can, however, turn off RCS messaging. Then you will only be able to use SMS for messaging people without iMessage. It has no typing indicator.

You could type your messages into another app such as Notes then share them back to Messages.
