How can I stop "Find My" lying?
Recently I've noticed that "Find My" on my iPhone confidently asserts that I have items with me when I don't.
It's particularly noticeable on my morning commute. This morning it was consistently showing my Macbook, iPad and AirPods as "With you now" as I travelled into London on the train, zipping along the tracks along with my blue dot.
This would normally be true, but as it happens I had left the AirPods and iPad at home this morning, and the Macbook at the office the night before. So it was simply lying.
I presume that, in the absence of concrete knowledge of where my things are, it is inferring their likely position based on past behaviour. But to state the obvious, this is the exact opposite of the behaviour I want. I know that I normally have them with me. I want to know where they might be when I am not sure! The last thing I want is to be frantically hunting through all my pockets and bags for them because I am told they are "with you now" when they are not!
For something like "Find My" what I want is accurate information. "Location unknown, last seen at X at Y time with Z accuracy" is much more useful than an inaccurate guess.
