My Apple iPad will not let me log in with my new Apple ID please help

My mom gave me her Apple iPad are two and she tried to take all her Apple ID info off of it we thought that we took it off but apparently when I created my Apple ID and try to sign in with it it keeps saying that is a login error please help me get back with me ASAP I'm begging you
