2018 MBP Drops Wifi connection (Asus AIMesh) in 30secs, no reconnect

I have a brand new MacBookPro15,1 i7, updated. I also have an Asus AIMesh router setup (also updated) -- main one in the central part of the house in the entertainment unit, one in the attic of the east wing of the house, one in the attic in the west.

If I sit in the central area (the living room), it sees the primary router at 95% and the AiMesh node at 65%(ish) according to WifiExplorer. Whenever the MBP detects both with a decent signal like that it will connect, drop the wifi after about 30 seconds, and never reconnect.

There are no neighbors nearby with connections I could successfully connect to.

The MBP is the only device to have this issue. Everything else just seamlessly hands off between routers as needed. But perhaps there's some setting that can help....?

Help! Thanks so much!
