Emails with supposed receipts
When I get an email with a receipt for a supposed purchase and I know I
did not make the purchase, other than changing my AppleID password, what
precautions can I take?

The scam emails showing false purchases aren't a security risk unless you click and fill in a link that is in the email.
You can also add 2 Factor Authentication to your account for more security. If the attempts continue, you might want to consider a name change.
