I got that new iPad Air 3. On the left most screen, I see that it has been dedicated to show widgets. I've removed all the widgets but the screen doesn't go away. Is there a way to remove this screen meant for widgets?

No. Whether you use widgets or not, the screen serves other useful functions and is hard coded into iOS.
