Having trouble deleting files in iCloud. I have deleted 70GB of files in the iCloud Drive on my Mac and emptied the trash folder, but the size of documents and data in my iCloud account has not reduced. Has anyone else managed to solve this problem?

Move items to your Mac and remove them from iCloud Drive
Go to iCloud.com/iCloud Drive and delete the files there. To free up space, then click Recently Delete at the bottom right and delete them from there or go to Settings/Advanced and delete the files there
Hi Eric thanks for the email. I’ve tried your suggestion, but there are no files in Recently Deleted. I guess clearing the trash folder on my Mac did delete the files. Unfortunately, iCloud Drive on iCloud.com is still showing 70GB in documents.

Try to answer the questions asked by apple support advisors , refreshing the iCloud account might help .
Thanks for the email, unfortunately the documents are already deleted from my Mac and the trash folder has been emptied. But the documents folder on my iCloud Drive is still showing 70GB full.
