Itunes Gift Card

I just redeemed a gift card on itunes, and it recognized the amount on the card, but didn't add all of it to my account. Any suggestions?

It recognized the amount... As the redemption was being processed, the value of the gift card (e.g., $50) appeared.
but it didn't add all of it to my account. When checking the account balance, it increased by some other amount (e.g,, $14.49).

If that's the case, a purchase likely intervened that you forgot to account for.
