An apple Product Title Apple Certified Refurbished A Grade Macbook Pro 15.4-inch Laptop (Retina DG) 2.5Ghz Quad Core i7 (Mid 2014)

I need a new laptop and a newer Ipad. I'm thinking to buy an Apple certified refurbished A Grade Macbook Pro 15.4-inch laptop (Retina DG) 2.5 GHZ Quad Core i7 (mid 2014 or mid 2015).

Is this Macbook will work for me? Any suggestion since I don't have a big budget for my laptop...Thank you. Thu216

Be careful and read the terms of the protection plan very carefully. Most times the laptop will need to be sent out to be repaired and it may or may not be to an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You may be without a laptop for a week or two. I personally don't trust the store protection plans since they always sound better than they actually are in practice.

If you do purchase this laptop, then I would advise you to immediately boot into Internet Recovery Mode and erase the physical drive and reinstall macOS. This will make sure you have a pristine copy of macOS without any added junk the store may add to it or which may be left over from the previous owner.

Also keep in mind some of the 15" 2015 models currently has a battery recall and repairs are estimated to take 2-3 weeks. You should make sure the laptop you are purchasing is not affected.
