so I opened a spam text on my iPhone 8+, it said "I shouldn't have waited so long to send this but here it is" and there was a link, I went to report it through Verizon and it said to copy the message when I held down the message is opened the link, before It loaded all the way I closed it and shut my phone off... I also completely reset my phone and wiped it clean, it is currently restoring from icloud… is there anything I should worry about or do?

No. Unless the iPhone's been jailbroken or you supplied personal information at the link, you don't actually need to do anything beyond resetting the web browser.
