iCloud verification code

i'm trying to sign into my iCloud account on a new macbook and it keeps sending me a code to my iPhone and telling me to type it in after I type in my password and its not working

MacBook Pro 15", OS X 10.10

Are you typing the password (ABC) followed by the code (123) or ABC123, with no spaces?
