How can I change the hard drive to SSD drive in my 2009 iMac 27 inch

Tell me how to open up my 2009 iMac 27 inch to change the hard drive to SSD.

I have that iMac. I’ve done it several times.


I suggest you you have a second person help hold the display while you unplug the display to motherboard connectors. And when putting it back together.


I used the tools in the link already provided by BDAqua.


I also watched the video link BDAqua proved.


I also printed out the ifixit tear down instructions. I would tape screws to the pictures so I knew where they went back. Most helpful.


An SSD and maxing out the RAM will really make your iMac sing. Mine is my main workstation every day at work, and it is faster than the day I got it.
