Touch ID disappeared in Notes

I use iPhone 6s with software version 12.3.1. I used to be able to open a locked note in Notes with Touch ID, but this option doesn’t appear anymore. Instead, a password prompt appears.

But the phone doesn’t recognize the password, despite the hint. Using Reset in Settings only works for future notes to be locked. Would the same apply if I deleted my current Touch ID and started a new one? What can I do?

If you have forgotten your Notes Password there is nothing much that can be done about it.

If your Touch ID is working fine now then changing your Touch ID may not help.
