How do you know you have received a refund

I recently bought a subscription by mistake and I contacted Apple same day to ask for a refund. I received a email from Apple showing the invoice for my purchase. Few hours later I checked my purchase history and it showed the a refunded icon on the side of the app. Does that mean I got my refund or I have to get an email to confirm it.

Depending upon what was used for the purchase, you will be able to tell by the account's balance going up (takes a few days ; and you may have to log out and back in for it to update), or a credit on the credit card (can take seven to ten days or so).
