Is there a permanent fix for very the trash emptying very slow? I have done all the terminal inputs and they work until you reboot, then problem is back.
2019 now and it seems I am the only one with this problem since 2016...
If it is an older Mac it may have been set to Secure Empty Trash. Look in Finder menu > Preferences > Advanced and see if Secure Empty Trash is checked.

Please determine if the same problems occur in "Safe Mode": Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac.
Are the items in your Trash Time Machine backups?
No just regular files..pix, movies etc
