Iphone 7 - lost pictures?

i am a novice .

my iPhone 7 was frozen on apple logo. i followed procedures to update.

all of a sudden it went to restore. the phone is now like a newly purchased phone asking me to set it up.

Have i lost all my recent pictures, videos, etc.?

(for some reason my phone has not backed up to the cloud for more than a year. lack of storage.

i had signed up for extra storage.- maybe expired Credit card)

any thoughts would be appreciated.
