Why can't I delete a podcast in iTunes? I subscribed or downloaded in the past. Now I want to get rid of the podcast. I can "delete from library" and the podcasts are deleted (and available to be re-downloaded), but I want the whole listing to go away. How do I do that?
OK, seems to be a bug I can replicate. Try selecting the series and using the delete key on your keyboard instead. Worked here.

12.9.6.3. Yes, the podcasts in question are not subscribed to. In at least one case, I used to subscribe and stopped. In at least a few other cases, I downloaded one episode and never subscribed to the podcast series. Thanks for your assistance.
No way! That's good detective work. It worked for me too. Who would've thought that the delete key would be more effective than the function within iTunes? Thanks. Small annoyance in life has been resolved.
Switch to the classic list view. Right click on the entry for the podcast rather than any individual episodes and delete that.

That's exactly what I did and nothing disappears. It asks if I really want to delete the episodes, but when I say 'yes', everything is still there.
What build of iTunes? Have you unsubscribed from the podcast?
