Could be a corrupt preference, or insufficient free space at the destination, or corruption in the project. Did you get any error message?

If it is a corrupt preference, try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and 'Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if you can export.

Check the space on the destination drive and make sure that it is sufficient. Also, make sure that you have at least 10GB of free space on your boot drive so that iMovie can operate efficiently.

If there is corruption in the project, scroll through it and look for black frames, white flashes, or anything that looks like corruption. Cut out any corruption that you find, and then try to share out again.
