Backing up iPhone

I recently backed up my old iPhone SE on my laptop so I could transfer all my settings to my newer iPhone 8. Both phones were 64G. So now when I try to back up my iPhone 8 on my laptop it says theres not enough space on the laptop. Not much has changed since I backed up my old phone and I even deleted a bunch of stuff to make room on the laptop and my newer phone. WTF. Help.

You can try and see how much storage the backups are using by finding the directories.

The original backup doesn't get deleted unless you purposely do that.
